Los Angeles Fire Relief UPDATE

Thank you to all who have been praying and who have donated to our special collection for Fire Relief. Our hearts and prayers are with those affected and displaced by the wildfires that devastated our beautiful city. Recovery and rebuilding will be a long process.

The collection that our churches in the Verdugo Hills area raised will be distributed to families who have suffered loss and displacement due to the fires in the Eaton Canyon area. These funds will be dispensed over time as the need will continue.

To start, Pastor Trenton Mueller from The Abiding Church in El Serrano, has been distributing food and gas cards to affected people in Altadena. The money raised by the New Hope Church community is contributing over $1,100 in gift cards to this effort.

Thank you so much!

There's still more to do...

Highlands Church in La Crescenta will be a gathering place on Saturday, February 22nd at 9am for volunteers who are willing to help with clean up efforts in Altadena. Volunteers will receive brief training and personal protective equipment before heading to the sites. Please fill out the form via our website, here, and check your email for confirmation of this event. Due to state and federal aid regulations this event is subject to change.

Stay connected by signing up.

If you are looking to donate goods or volunteer your time on a different date, you can find a directory of Mutual Aid Resources here .

If you need extra help processing these events and recovering emotionally, reach out to our office for prayer and counseling. You can also call or text the

American Red Cross Disaster Distress Helpline at

We ask everyone to be in prayer for this long period of recovery.

Lord, thank you for being with us through this. We pray for your hand of protection over those affected and those helping on site in the recovery efforts. Be with us, Lord as we mourn for losses. We thank you, Lord, for your Spirit that is moving people to help each other and rebuild our great city. In Jesus' holy name, Amen.

Church in Action

God's love was in the air at last night's Bible & Game Night. Our kids and youth had a great time celebrating Valentine's Day, with cookie decorating and crafts. Thanks to our leaders and volunteers for making this happen!
